Taking in beautiful countryside this Summer, explore the historic towns, cities and coast of Kent as well as the ancient and majestic Leeds Castle.

 

Whilst on tour, the following program includes;

 

DAY ONE

 

• Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Kent, and arrive late afternoon at the Bridgewood Manor Hotel. 4 nights stay - dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea/Coffee and biscuits on arrival.

 

DAY TWO

 

• This morning we drive into Maidstone where you have time to explore the town and obtain lunch before our afternoon visit to Royal Tunbridge Wells. The town lies in the heart of the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The historic spa town has welcomed visitors for over 400 years. Browse among the chic independent shops of the colonnaded Pantiles and the High Street, with its buzzy cafes bars, music, and one-of-a-kind shops.

 

DAY THREE

 

• This morning, we visit the town of Rochester with its magnificent cathedral and historic castle. Take a stroll along High Street and explore the old town and cobbled streets.

• We have a chance to obtain lunch here before our afternoon visit to Leeds Castle. Leeds Castle is set on two islands on the River Len and has been home to generations of lords and ladies for over 1,000 years. We are transported through around 900 years of the castle’s history – in a sumptuous mix of period architecture, impressive interiors, and family treasures.

 

DAY FOUR

 

• This morning, we enjoy a scenic drive through the Kent Downs to the coastal town of Broadstairs. The town lies above a harbor with cliffs on either side. It has seven bays of golden sand, which are (from south to north) Dumpton Gap, Louisa Bay, Viking Bay, Stone Bay, Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay and Botany Bay. North Foreland rises between Stone Bay and Joss Bay. On the cliffs above Kingsgate Bay is Kingsgate Castle, formerly part of the estate of Lord Holland but now converted into private residences. After our visit we journey to Whitstable. It has traditional charms, a strong arts culture and rich maritime history. Whitstable's main claim to fame is its oysters which remain an intrinsic part of this sea town's character and are celebrated every July at the Oyster Festival.

 

DAY FIVE

 

• After breakfast, we leave and head for home.

The Bridgewood Manor Hotel & Spa, Chatham, is renowned for its fine food and service. Hotel facilities include Squires restaurant, open plan lounge and relaxing bar. Spa facilities include gym, swimming pool and sauna. Bedrooms are all ensuite, and have television, hairdryer, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
