Sidmouth is a beautiful coastal town with a regency feel, home to beautiful beaches, stylish eating places and great shopping. Sidmouth lies on the Jurassic Coast and the coastline is dominated by the vivid red sandstone cliff. Along the front is the Millennium Walkway which stretches the length of the beach, which is made of pebbles, providing the perfect background for a stroll.  Sidmouth sits in the middle of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. No visit to Sidmouth is complete without a visit to the nearby Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary with over 500 rescue donkeys.

Exmouth

• Exmouth is the western gateway to the Jurassic Coast. It lies on the east bank of the mouth of the River Exe, town has been a popular seaside resort since the 18th century and is often referred to as the oldest holiday resort in Devon. Explore the beautiful town, with one of the highlights of shopping in Exmouth is its array of independent boutiques and specialty shops.

Exeter

• A Devon city that is renowned as one as the attractive and historically interesting cities in England. Pre-dating the arrival of the Romans in AD 50, Exeter’s history is rich and long. This is reflected in its fascinating visitor attractions including its unique Underground Passages, magnificent Cathedral, Roman wall and the beautiful Quayside to discover along with the award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum plus a real diverse mix of eateries means it is renowned as one of the foodie capitals of the South West

Bedford Hotel ***

The Bedford (as it is known now), was in fact one of the first Regency houses to be built on the seafront in Sidmouth. It was originally Wallis’s Marine Library and Reading Rooms. John Wallis (d. 1818) was a London game, book, map and printmaker and seller, operating from 1775, when his business was called the Map Warehouse. His Marine Library and Reading Rooms quickly became a popular meeting place for Sidmouth’s fashionable summer visitors in the early 19th century.

All 40 bedrooms are tastefully decorated and modernised whilst keeping their traditional feel. They are all en-suite and many offer breathtaking sea views over Lyme Bay and the Jurassic Coast.
