Portmeirion

 

• We visit the beautiful village of Portmeirion in North Wales. This enchanting Italianate-style village was designed by Sir Clough Ellis Williams from 1925 to 1975, and is full of aesthetic wonders, from its architecture to its gardens. You may recognise the setting as a filming location from a variety of films and series, including the 1960s TV show 'The Prisoner'.

 

Puffin Island Cruise

 

• With spectacular scenery and an array of wildlife it’s easy to see why thousands of passengers each year enjoy this beautiful part of Wales. Located at the North East entrance of the Menai Strait the area is famous for its abundance of wildlife including Atlantic grey seals, resident coastal birds and visiting sea birds. All our cruises offer an entertaining and informative commentary, and will point out places of interest and tell you about the local history.

 

River Dee Cruise

 

• See Chester from a different perspective. From the moorings we head upstream, under Queen’s Park Suspension Bridge, past the Boathouse Inn and Grosvenor Park, and through the picturesque suburb of Boughton. As you follow the sweeping bend of the Meadows, you’ll see stunning riverside homes and gardens, and hear about the fascinating history of the River Dee and its surroundings.

 

Llangollen Railway

 

• Llangollen Railway is a Heritage Railway Line operated by either heritage steam or diesel, running between Llangollen, following the River Dee through the Dee Valley for 10 miles, to Corwen. There are five stations along the line all with their own special charm and hidden gems.  Corwen Station opened in June 2023 enabling you to travel 10 miles through this stunning scenery. The line, located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), remains close to the waters of the river for most of its length, on the north bank at Llangollen Station, the river is crossed on to the south bank via the Dee Bridge, approximately one mile upstream from Llangollen.  The Dee is classed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its entire length.

 

Ffestiniog Railway

 

• The Ffestiniog Railway is one of the UK’s most popular heritage railways, and for good reason. The heritage railway runs for 14 miles through breathtaking scenery in the Snowdonia National Park.
