The County Durham town of Bishop Auckland is home to ‘Kynren – an epic tale of England’. This is a mesmerising live action extravaganza that takes you on a whistle stop tour of 2,000 years of history, myth and legend. Taking place on a vast landscaped stage with a huge lake at its centre hiding a host of surprises, you’ll meet many of the characters and events that have shaped the north east - and the country as a whole - as the varied scenes, encompassing the Roman occupation to World War II, unfold in front of your eyes

Whilst in County Durham the following includes;

• A visit to Beamish Set in 300 acres of beautiful Durham countryside, bringing history to life. Hop on a tram and make your way around the museum making sure to visit the 1900s town and immerse yourself in the 1900s at the Pit Village by going down a real mine.  Staff and volunteers are dressed in period costume, which makes the experience truly authentic. Experience living, breathing history at Beamish Museum, The Living Museum of the North and discover what life was like in North East England during Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, war time and 1950s Britain.
