River Dee Cruise
See Chester from a different perspective. From the moorings we head upstream, under Queens Park Suspension Bridge, past the Boathouse Inn and Grosvenor Park, and through the picturesque suburb of Boughton. As you follow the sweeping bend of the Meadows, youll see stunning riverside homes and gardens, and hear about the fascinating history of the River Dee and its surroundings.
Llangollen Cruise
A return boat trip from Llangollen Wharf, running every 30 minutes during the school holidays and roughly every hour at other times. This is the perfect activity whatever the weather, as our modern purpose-built boats have both inside and outside seating areas.
The trip is just long enough to allow you to relax and unwind, making it perfect as a gentle start or soothing end to your day, or as a moment of peace in the middle of a hectic one. Experience for yourself the pace of life in "the olden days" whilst gazing out at one of the most beautiful canals in Britain, and admire the strength of our gorgeous horses as they easily pull your boat through the water.
Sea Salt Tour
The Lion Salt Works is a restored historic open-pan salt making site, in the village of Marston, close to Northwich. The site lies adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal, close to Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse, and the historic Anderton Boat Lift.
This £10.23 million project opened in June 2015 offering a fascinating journey through the life of the countrys last open-pan salt making site. When exploring the site and its restored buildings, you will discover how the salt works operated and the impact of salt on mid-Cheshires people, economy and landscape.
Cheshire Gin
See first-hand how we produce our gins and learn about how the gin industry is so important to the Cheshire area, or may have a drink or two, and explore the gift shop.
With new jewels in the crown following a sparkling £5millon refurbishment to public areas. Built opposite Chester station to serve first-class rail passengers, this hotel has an illustrious past. This magnificent brick and stucco Italianate building was said to be the first skyscraper of its time. Since opening in 1860, its hosted guests such as Charles Dickens, Cecil Rhodes and Lillie Langtry.
Just a 10-minute walk from the centre of Chester, guests can visit The Rows, tour the magnificent medieval cathedral or see the ruins of the largest Roman amphitheatre in Britain. Its also a prime location, adjacent to Chester Railway station, and easily accessible from the M53 and M56.
